Anchor Ridge Counseling and Consulting offers individual counseling for men in Bryan-College Station and virtually across Texas. This is counseling for men who've been gutting it out. Men who don't usually ask for help first, who aren't always sure where to start, but who know something has to give.
Some of what you may be carrying:
-
Anxiety that won’t shut off

-
The pressure to perform, to provide, to hold it together

-
A short fuse or emotional numbness

-
Feeling disconnected from yourself or the people closest to you
-
Strain in your marriage or other relationships

-
The weight of leading at work, in ministry, or at home

-
Old patterns you can see but can't seem to change on your own

-
Faith questions you don’t know where to put
If any of this sounds familiar, you don’t have to sort through it alone.

Counseling offers space to:
-
Make sense of what’s going on beneath the surface
-
Recognize the patterns that keep getting in your way
-
Reconnect with what matters most
-
Work through faith or spiritual tension honestly
-
Get clearer, steadier and more like yourself
Counseling here meets you where you are. For Christian men, faith is part of the foundation of the work. It shapes how you see, what you carry, and how change actually takes root. Sometimes we engage it directly. More often it stays in the background, shaping the work without being the topic. Men of all faiths and backgrounds are welcome here.

What working with me actually looks like
Most men come in quietly. They aren't sure they belong here, or whether what they're carrying is heavy enough to bring up. But what is almost always true -- most have been carrying more than they realized, longer than they meant to.

The first session, we slow down. There's no script. You don't need to know what to say. I'll listen, ask honest questions, and stay with what comes up. By the end, you'll have a clearer sense of what's been weighing on you and what working together could look like.

From there, sessions are usually weekly or every other week. Some of the most important work happens between sessions, as clarity emerges and small shifts start to show up in everyday life. Some men work with me for six to ten sessions to get clear on one specific thing. Others stay longer to do deeper work. Both are common. You set the pace.

Sessions are fifty minutes, in person in College Station or virtual across Texas. You don't have to know what to say when you walk in. That's what we do together.

This isn't about getting fixed. It's about getting clearer, getting steadier, and figuring out what you actually want the next stretch of your life to look like.
Take your next step toward steadier ground.
“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose.”
— Viktor Frankl (paraphrase)
